| Steam Name: bluefire31 Steam ID: STEAM_0:1:42372377 Steam Profile Link: http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198045010483/ Age: 16 Rp Experience: 6ish years How did you stumble upon our server?: wo w z a m o m a n d d a d l o k a t d i s Tell me a cool Mass Effect Fact: Turians have a collectivists veiw, 'One for the many' and all Character Name: Alicencia Beyumous Character Race: Turian Why did you choose this race?: Turians. Who could go wrong with space raptors who are obsessed with military matters? (Plus I have a special place in my heart for Ali in particular! Age: 36 What can your character do for our ship: Tank, doctor, barrier specialist, support! Character Equipment:
- One (1) suit of HEAVY armor, specially fitted for her small form
- Two (2) gauntlets with omni-tool holographic amplifiers
- One (1) Medical backpack fit for combat
- One (1) LMG in a state of degradation and near disrepair
- One (1) shotgun in a well worn state
- One (1) comfortable outfit with several patched holes in it
- Several (~) data pads of short stories which are consistently updated
- Two (2) eye visors fit for each eye for each side of head
- Many (~) children's drawings from past patients
Moral Alignment: Chaotic good Strengths: Tank mode! - Anyone expecting the little lady to roll onto her stomach would be stunned at just how tough she proves to be. Heavy armor, barriers, tech armor, and fortification in hand anyone would find her to take just as much damage as a krogan, perhaps more due to the nature of how many layers she had on, and continue to fight. Medecine! - Interest in keeping allies alive has led to her majoring as a Xeno-biologist while in the military, but with the fervor she contains within her being one would be challenged to find anything to keep her from stopping! Selfless and determined! - Fully willing to die for close friends, this small creature is difficult to deter from her self imposed mission! Experienced! - Theres a reason why she's still kicking after fifteen plus years of military service. Self contained sunshine! - It is nearly impossible to get her mandibles lower than her chin, and her voice lower than a chirp! Weaknesses: Haunted - Years of watching friends die due to her short comings as a doctor have lead to the small medic to have a somewhat sacrafitial veiw on life and an internal self hatred for living past them. Tunnel vision - While extremely well at working on a patient at a time, this can lead her into a situation which could be less than optimal if said patient gets into danger. . . Armor/weaponry knowledge - Lots of knowledge on biology, but weaponry? Armor? Nooot so much. Limited firepower - Shotguns and, to a lesser degree, LMGs are all she can wield - Backstory Includes mother's exposure for reference!:
In the year of 2176 a ship filled with workers to find a new colony world embarks towards one of the most promising planets, an unnamed garden world. While in route to the planet the ship was attacked by pirates, and the ship was destroyed many of the crew managed to get away into escape pods while others were killed in the following explosions or suffocated in a vacuum.
The escape pods crashed onto the planets surface, followed shortly by the ship itself falling in debris. Upon landing, the ships engine detonated, spreading the radioactive dust over the landscape and many of the escape pods. Many of the survivors were forced to inhale the raw dust over the course of the time spent on the world waiting for rescue. This rescue came many a week latter, long after many had died from the exposure. One such survivor, who was pregnant at the time, was checked and found that her unborn child was exposed as well. Upon return to palaven, the mother was restricted to bed rest and began treatment for the exposure.
Nine months later the child was born through emergency c-section and almost instantly after placed in intensive care. She was not reacting well to the birth itself and was promptly moved to intensive care. Three months passed before the family was allowed to return home with her, though she was declared to be a more 'temperamental' child with her health.
Early childhood consisted of many doctor visits, many bumps into walls, and many examinations. When she was two, it was found that cancerous growths were developing in her eyes, resulting in their removal. Each one came back with the test results of strange readings in her flesh, hormones never correcting due to a tumor within her thyroid, and concern over how short she was. The visits eventually got to the findings that she had element zero nodes within her flesh; she was a biotic. This was both troubling and reassuring news, it explained her but now it guaranteed her future as a cabal.
At the age of 12 she had two life altering surgeries take place; her biotic implant surgery, and the final gene therapy for her thyroid. With. The former had her laying down in bed for a few weeks due to the strange feeling the implants gave her, and the latter simply ensure puberty was ushered through correctly. She eventually adjusted to the corrected hormones, but it would never correct how short she had grown. And after that year, just a few days after her thirteenth birthday, the cabal recruiter came and whisked her off to pre-boot camp.
Pre-boot camp seemed to want to just push her towards using her biotic abilities for the first time. Within the first few weeks it was found that she could sustain biotic fields for a long time, but mustering all the energy at once for burst was. . . well, if someone had ever pushed a turian too hard, the representation of a small girl passing out almost instantaneously in a burst of blue smog was the very picture of it. Knowledge in hand, they pushed her to uphold barriers that would cause other turians to collapse from exhaustion. Then onwards to fields of pure white that acted as a prision, then onwards to bubbles of hard light, and over again. Over and over until she was ready to spring from bed and hold them.
After pre-boot camp came the true boot camp, the kind conscripted children from the hierarchy's colonies came from. She was trained with other cabals, some of whom were with her in pre-boot, away from normal turians. Fine with her, she'll stick with her own people. Here, with the already trained biotic abilities, some turians took on more training, some physical or some due to intellect. For her, it was the latter. She wasn't the strongest, no, but instead when put to an IQ test she got an above average rating on it, and a follow up put her in the higher grades, making her one of the more reasonable candidates for more knowledgeable training. This promptly offered her the way of more technical path.
Within a few weeks of the test she choose to study field medicine, which also in turn took her down a semi-technical knowledge path. This meant learning all about turian biology, in and out. What their carapace healed with best, how many pints of blood one could loose before death, how much shock a body could take before it died, et cetera, and, et cetera. She learned to keep someone alive, heal wounds to get them back into battle, how to program medical machines to work for her, on and on.
With the medical knowledge also came with technological knowledge; you can't operate medical machinery without knowledge of how the tech works. That's simply the addiction began, but the more she read the more she wanted to know about omni-tools and what they could project. The instructors at the time noticed and assisted her with the obsticals. At first a simple burst of electrical current to tools and machines, then a small fire missile, on and on until she figured out how to program digital armor. Soon she was wearing heavier and heavier armor, as if to test just what her small form could sustain. Within the year, thanks to horribly difficult training, she held some of the heaviest armor available. Jokingly, her friends refered to her as an Elcor for how much armor she packed on
Boot camp ended officially a few years there after and she was given all she would need in the life of a cabal, and placed under the command of a kabalim. Adjustment to ship life was strange after living her entire life on palaven. The first few years were alright, not terribly busy but fairly quiet. She got a feel for ship life and combat, after the initial surprise of true combat training kicked in and she fought well. Then began the reaper scares and threats, which from her got a few raised eyebrows but nothing more, and life went on.
Until slowly, surely, Alicencia's mental health began to degrade. Each passing day of battles and wars it was clear the young medic's mind was shifting into unhealthy territories. Nothing akin to a murderous woman who worked for a private employer, no, that would be her current occupation as a cabal. Rather, they found her to be going steadily toward 'reckless endangerment' and 'was a risk to her own health'. Due to the danger she posed to herself and her past record of 'excellence and bravery in the face of danger' she was given an honorable discharge at the young age of thirty. It was rare among cabals to get such, but after a few years she felt more than an itch to get back to work.
With the military out of reach, she began to wander the galaxy with the knowledge and training she received in boot camp. From Illium to omega, and every ship between the small medic has earned herself numbers of nicknames. The clinic she owned on omega soon grew to a point where she could leave it in capable hands and on the cycle began, all that was left was the ship she would move about on. Thus, she arrived on the 'transport' ship, Geisha.

| Is very nice!
But, and i know it's already approved so I can't do much- right now they're a high-damage tank. this is a problem imo- but by the looks of it, you're the kind of person that's ok with a little constructive (I hope!) criticism.
Just to give an example, one of my own characters, Druss Jorkakt (a volus) is *very* tanky, but has a trade-off with this as she has almost no damage output, at least outside of melee range (Event then, it's only blunt force weapons- no space katanas, so damage is still limited as hell) Basically, I'm just not sure the tunnel vision weakness would come into play enough during a fight- basically a weakness that could be more readily noticed and exploited by the other combatant during a fight.
That being said, just wanna say was glad to see someone actually remember that turians are conscripted into the military and don't just sign up if they feel like it (if they're in the hierarchy at least) | |
