Why did you choose this race?: Hyde's personality is tied to humanity, and has deep spiritual roots that tie into his own personal history.
Age: 25
What can your character do for our ship? (Muscle, Maintenance, Triggerman, Comedic Act, etc.): Weapons Engineer, he also can play acoustic guitar.
Character Equipment: A guitar case with a guitar and a Stiletto pistol. A Leather Jacket with a basic grey T-Shirt and black jeans.
Moral Alignment: Neutral Good
Strengths (Personality + Skills): Peaceable, Intelligent, Physically Strong, Close-Quarters Combat knowledge, Friendly, Creative, Weapons Engineering knowledge (Limited to Human/Citadel manufacture weaponry), A willingness to learn, (Joke unintended) Aspergers, plays acoustic guitar + requests, speaks Russian and Japanese.
Weaknesses (Personality + Defects): Alcoholism, Mental instability, Occasional mental breakdowns, Panic Attacks, sometimes quite cowardly, Rude when drunk, Rushes into things, Impatient, Clumsy, Anti-Social on occasion, Sometimes very inopportune with his responses.
Character Backstory a.ka. how or why are you here (One paragraph minimum, be creative!):

Born to a First Contact wars veteran who has since been passed into the realm of death, Hyde Jensen was born in what his uncle defined as ‘A hell born of one's mind’. Hyde was born in a small Russian town in 2158 to a Russian Father and a Japanese mother, hence his knowledge of both languages. Hyde’s father was a harsh alcoholic during his later years after the war, occasionally getting into major scuffles over the comments on his wife and the more inappropriate gestures made to her. A beating would take his life away in this town, and leave his mother to raise a young Hyde on her own.

His mother raised him in a way that would make his father happy. She was a guitar player in her day, and taught him how to play during his youth. She also raised him on the movies his father enjoyed (Some of it was not appropriate for children). His mother was also a religious influence. Hyde found his own personal interests in both his culture’s history and mythology, modelling his ethics after certain codes of honor and conduct (IE: Bushido code mixed with an old Knights code). However, this utopia wouldn’t last very long as his mother would pass away from a disease (this is a deliberate macguffin), he was 12 years old at the time. His uncle and aunty took the role of raising him, which gave him the knowledge of engineering. His Uncle taught him his engineering trade over his teenage years, to which Jensen went into a university to expand his knowledge. He went into the Military for basic for a year, and spent one more year as a weapons engineer before being discharged due to mental health issues and disorderly conduct.

Jensen’s past is quite clouded to those he meets, but his addiction to alcohol and his anti-social demeanor on occasion has something to do with it indeed… Perhaps you’re interested to find out his story? Or will he decide to remove himself from the equation sooner than one can stop him from falling?

Have yet to fully read this over, but i'm impressed so far. I didn't know their faces were modeled after bats.
