Tell me a cool Mass Effect Fact: Krogans have four testicles.

Character Name: Vara Guro
Character Race: Male Drell
Why did you choose this race?: I wonder what it's like to be scaly and I went on Mass Effect OC generator.
Age: 28
What can your character do for our ship? (Muscle, Maintenance, Triggerman, Comedic Act, etc.): Underworld Dealer & Negotiator Ex. Drell Enforcer (Engineer).
Character Equipment: M-8 Avenger, M-3 Predator. Full Kestrel Armor and his ability for deploying combat drones and his tech abilities.
Moral Alignment: (See Chart) Neutral Evil.
Strengths: Arid and Hot/Dry Enviroments, Eidetic memory, Acrobatics, Tech repair, Heightened Senses, Silvertongued.
Weaknesses: Humid Enviroments, Cold climate, Practically anything fast enough to kill a Drell, Lethargic, Gambler, Drug Addict.
Character Backstory a.ka. how or why are you here (One paragraph minimum, be creative!):

A Drell, Vara Guro, born on June 8th, 2155 on one of the supporting space stations that orbit First Land in the Relic System. The very early life of Vara consisted of being an unloader for the platinum shipments on Rough Tide for the Hanar until he got bored with his current job and also the fact there was this one chick he was after but she went to security so that's another reason but he never pulled any tail. Vara underneath of Hanar's security force to keep the race riots down so that the cluster can remain un-dominant, Vara typically never really cared so as long as the payment was good but when he has to deal with some giant stinky lizard or a weird goblin thing, he pretty much did the talking to make sure he wasn't crushed by a giant stinky lizard also known as the Krogan. During his time in the security force he started to develop a sort of corruption because he wanted to get rich, that was his ultimate goal so he started to illegally charge Krogans for passage through other areas so that they could get platinum illegally.

The day came where Vara was late to his shift in one of the generator rooms that powered the mining drills for the platinum mines and so he was encountered by his CO and then discharged from the security forces for being quote on quote, 'Lethargic, slacking and just plain rude'. So he decided that he was going to try and get in good with the Krogans and Vorcha gangs in order to try and get some illegal merchandise, how he met the informant for the gangs well...they were the ones that he always let through to go on a stealing spree of resources, trusted by the informant and his vorcha sidekick, but the rest of the gang were pretty much the most untrusting people he's ever met. So he began participating and helping plan the raids on the refined platinum ships and holding containers because he pretty much knew the layout of the compounds, vents and all. So when the Krogans and Vorcha began their assaults, Vara snuck in while everything was going on outside most of the time and he'd just take one of the local loaders in order to start loading platinum onto it as he passes it to his accomplices that he took with him, by the end of each raid usually 2,000 Kg worth of platinum is stolen from the compounds until Vara was caught talking to Weyrloc Krag, the leader of one of the platinum gangs by the same chick in the security force, of course Krag just left but Vara was arrested and prosecuted.

After being prosecuted and sent to an asteroid mining prison near Rough Tide but later he was forced into a mercenary contract for free labor on the Geisha in the Oasis Asteroid Cluster. Before all of this mess he usually dealt in the narcotic trade but later he went to become a small underboss for the Krogan raid parties on Rough Tide which he still keeps in contact today.

This is the best reason ever to pick a character. Just thought I'd point that out. XD Side note, how much research have you done into drell? Both canon lore and headcanon-wise.

Could you add a bit more to the strengths and weaknesses? Taking biology into account, unless it's astounding for the species, it doesn't count. ex. krogan are naturally resilient space alligators, but having redundant organs is a given for their species and not necessarily a unique strength unless said krogan has five pairs of lungs, six testicles and four hearts

This seems a bit weird. I thought he was a silver-tongued drell. Did he take the verbal abuse and just half-quit/half-get fired? And why did his boss fire him so abruptly? Did they have a strained relationship before? Did they figure out about the illegal charging and that's why he was booted so quickly?

Idk, like how much do you want, I'm not writing another four paragraphs to explain it all, I wanted it to be short and sweet and I'm not going into details because I'm not writing a novel. I roleplay, I don't write books for characters, I develop them. Also, and what do you mean look into the Drell? I literally just read the wiki page and that's about it, because it's super duper fucking hard to make a backstory for a Drell that wasn't one of the 375K that were transported off of their homeworld and onto the Hanar world. Also, he didn't get his silver tongue until he started to doing underground deals, before he was just a lazy ass.

Don't worry, I'm not expecting four more paragraphs. I'm actually of your mindset, that the backstory is less important than the character traits themselves and that you develop your characters through RP--but that doesn't really excuse a history lacking cohesiveness. It just has to make sense. All you need to do is reword that section or add another sentence explaining why he just got fired out of seemingly nowhere, that's all I was asking.

I applaud you for differentiating your drell in such a way, too. I do like it.

And as far as the research thing goes, I ask only because I'm curious. I, myself, as the infamous Progenitor of the Frog People, actually went hunting around for more information on salarians than the wikis provided because I was so enthralled by the salarian race. Beyond the wiki, it lead me to an absolutely fantastic fanfiction called A Season of Sorrows Unending, and it also led me to a massive catalogue of Mass Effect planets. That part was thrilling because I could confidently make Reylds be from the planet Gembat and Tei from the planet Kenaz rather than the go-to Sur'kesh and...fuck I forget the other. Their famous colony. Anyways, it was meant as a lead-in to friendly conversation and not a criticism at all, friend. I am sorry if it came across that way.

It's good to see that you put more thought into the strengths and weaknesses. I wish you had reworded the backstory, but by this point that's a nitpick that's not worth stopping you from playing on our server.

Honestly, your drell seems like an interesting character. I look forward to RPing with him!
