Tell me a cool Mass Effect Fact: i fucked your mom ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Character Name: Anders Darden
Character Race: Human
Why did you choose this race?: Being a human IRL, I think I can roleplay them.
Age: 32
What can your character do for our ship? (Muscle, Maintenance, Triggerman, Comedic Act, etc.): Finances / Professional blackmailer / Former mastermind of a bank heisting crew
Character Equipment: Customized protective mask, M-11 Suppressed Pistol, M-15 Vindicator
Moral Alignment: Lawful Evil
Strengths: Prideful, ambitious, independent Weaknesses: Distrustful of new faces, greedy, and sometimes considered to be a hard ass, which includes him being unmerciful. Especially distrustful of alien races.
Character Backstory a.ka. how or why are you here (One paragraph minimum, be creative!): Anders was born in New York, New York, on the east coast of the United States. Born to a fairly wealthy family, with a strict dad and a loving mother, he fell nothing short of properly disciplined. Early on in his life he was exposed to the lives of those rich, earning their sums of cash legally, or illegally. The difference made no matter to him. Money was money, regardless of being earned by illegitimate means or not.
Early on in his childhood years, he found it useful to try his best to get dirt on people; if at any point he was wronged by those he'd go on and tattle to his heart's content. Childish, some people saw it as. Manipulative to others, he was a natural born person with a skill to blackmail. Nobody saw it as anything harmful, due to the fact that he was still so young. But as the years went on and on he found himself putting up new schemes to earn a wage, by any means. Few people approved of this-- yet he somehow gained a friend throughout all of it. One who'd end up sticking by him for a majority of his life.
By his teenage years he started his own, "loan", business. Loaning other peers of his money to buy what they wanted. If they hadn't paid back within a pre-determined amount of time, they'd be in hot water, whether it be through his ability to blackmail, or through his friend whom would, of course, start a tussle with them until they ended up paying the money back. Once his parents found out about this business of his, he was punished beyond belief. Tedious and downright difficult chores were something that he dealt with on a daily basis. Not to mention that his allowance was taken away, and he was nearly suspended from school. Regardless of the dire punishment he was dealt, it didn't stop him there. If anything it just made him more secretive about his wrong doings.
Going into his early adolescence, he'd been reminded of the former inspiration in his life for greed: money is money, being gained illegitimately or not. Of course, this provoked him into coercing a few of his peers that he had through his life into joining up into some sort of, what could barely be considered professional gang of sorts. Consisting of barely even a group, Anders found himself at a situation to where he had to take a strict hold of the few people they had if they wanted to be successful.
Low risk, low reward. That's what it all started with. He sparked a career of crime on some fateful day, robbing an ATM for a few pocketfuls of cash. Surprisingly, due to his tedious and rigorous planning, they made off with the perfect crime. Lack of evidence caused the case of robbery to go cold within two days, only up to the point to where the police left it alone. That tingling feeling of euphoria was something he'd rarely experienced before. And the robberies only went up from there, going from small town ATM robberies, all the way up to small bank heists.
The crew made a name for themselves. Wasn't long before they ended up essentially swimming in cash. Finding themselves in a need for an upgrade, of sorts, to their crew, they started looking out for intelligence-- and a Quarian they found fit just the description they were looking for. Trained in finding intelligence, conditioned in technology, and all around useful to every aspect they didn't have in the group. Working through a few low risk jobs, they found how much of a breeze it happened to be when they were properly informed of the situation.
The Quarian surprisingly made things far too easy. Which led to a spiral of desire, Anders wanting a bigger score with each heist, considering the gang to be professional at this point, nearly being mentioned every day in the news.
Due to this, previously described spiral, Anders brought forth a consideration to the members. One that hadn't even been considered in much volume until this point. The thought of heisting one of the largest banks of America. A consensus of, "why not", came over the crew. Which led to a near year of planning. Once the details had been hashed out, the pay roll was introduced. One where the Quarian, would be getting the shit end of the stick in terms of the deal, so to speak.
Once the heist had come around, the crew had little idea what was coming. Right as they busted through the front door of the bank, a swat team and a half were waiting inside of the bank. The Quarian had tipped off the officials to what would have been a legendary robbery. Making a hasty fight and escape, Anders and his personal friend had been the only ones who had escaped through the bank, the other three ending up arrested before they could even attempt to escape.
With the heat on their ass and no other way out, they found a shuttle off of Earth as fast as possible, finding a listing for protection on a drug smuggling ship. Regardless of it not being their cup of tea, they found it to be the best area to lay low at for awhile, then arriving onto the ship to become accommodated, under the promise of supplements of finances. | |
