| Steam Name: bluefire31 Steam ID: STEAM_0:1:42372377 Steam Profile Link: http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198045010483/ Rp Experience: 6 years fam Tell me a cool Mass Effect Fact: Most batarian culture was hidden away, so many people assume they're all slavers. Character Name: Ayao'nivak Torack 'Ayano'Age: 26 What can your character do for our ship: Homemade *potion seller, sniper, surgical care specialist. *Her potions are too strong for you, traveler.**Also not actually potions this isn't Skyrim.Character Equipment:
- 1 set of batarian made chemical goggles, [A.T. engraved in side]
- 1 Air filter fitted for batarian lungs [A.T engraved in side]
- 1 suit of engineer grade armor [omega make]
- Several boxes of base chemicals and vials to contain said chemicals
- A small library of datapads on medicine, drugs, surgical care, species organs, xenobiology, and batarian history.
- Several medical instruments used for chemical creation and/synthesis of elements
- Several 'WIP' heavy weapons, weapon bits, and pieces, along with general junk.
- Omni-tool holograms for surgical care, chemistry, and weapon/armorsmithing.
- 2 holographic projectors on each wrist.
Moral Alignment: True NeutralStrengths:Chemist: A lot of time and practice has gone into learning just how to create and distribute the right amount of elements for healing or poison. Best keep on her good side. Surgeon: Volunteer work in a clinic along with knowledge of what organ does what - partially for poisoning and partially for surgical work - and books on xeno-biology have help formed her into a functional surgeon. Craftswoman: Getting dirty with a project is how she likes to spend her time. If she isn't working on a new chemical compound, then bet a heavy weapon is being created for profit or a new weapon modification, maybe even an armor set if she's in the right mood. One would be hard pressed to find something she wouldn't be willing to work on. Techy: With how much interaction she has with tech on a daily basis, it isn't surprising she is well versed in tech. Quick thinker: While her reactions may not be quick, her ability to adapt is something to admire. Weaknesses: Physical strength: What she has in speed and flexibility she loses in strength. Unable to lift or fire anything heavier than the Mantis sniper rifle, she is not one to willingly engage in hand to hand. Negotiations: While able to make snide comments and sneer at people, she would not be able to talk one down from biting a bullet. Combat in general: Unless through the scope of a rifle or throwing acids, she isn't much of a person for a fight. Racism: Time on omega has loosened up old habits, but when facing off against other species in combat don't be surprised for a racial slur or two to leave her, along with other things. Character Backstory a.ka. how or why are you here: - Backstory:
Ayano ran away at the young age of 18, claiming to go for a scouting trip when in fact ditching the batarian special forces and slavery all together.
Instead, she found herself upon omega. Here her previous weapons training came into effect. Simply put, she was making her place on omega. One one of her first jobs, just out of the military, she was called to a gang shooting. More or less ‘kill everyone’. Instead, she found a human on the same job, except instead of taking a sniper rifle like herself and taking them out one by one, she ran up with a pistol in hand. The batarian felt a mix, shoot the human, or kill the gang which she was well aware would hunt down some kid for lunch money later. Much as she hated aliens - thanks, hegemony - she hated the gang more. After the first head exploded, the second already fired, the human came to life and went to work.
By the end of it, the batarian had a new friend, affectionately named Raven.
From there she went on to continue her work as a drug maker and seller. Nothing terrible happened during this time, but a local clinic did call and wanted painkillers to be made. When the batarian asked why they explained they required them for dextro- users and lost their supply in a raid. Agreeing for a small fee, she delivered them when one of the surgeons rushed in and asked for a clean set of hands. The batarian, having worn gloves and a sweatshirt on her way, was apparently the only free set and the surgeon snatched her away, leading her to help him. She handed him what was required and watched, enthralled. Why it was so interesting she would never know, but she began to volunteer there to learn surgery more closely.
For a while the batarian. bounced between defending the clinic, making drugs or meds, selling a new heavy weapon, repairing armor, or working with tech in general she lived peacefully. Nothing of note.
Then, on one of the few occasions where she went out to get some base chemicals, she saw something happening. Nothing out of the ordinary for omega, a gang beating on one singled out man. Turian in this instance. Something she was going to walk away when she took a good look at his face. He wasn’t begging for life or anything of the sort, but rather he was fighting. He was clawing fighting and biting for life. Something about that made her want to at least even the odds. Quickly, before any of them saw her, she flung one of her most acidic substances, shattering on the gang. She ran as the sounds of screaming and flesh on flesh echoed down the hall. Never noticing her goggles fell from her face.
Only a few days later did she get them back, from a familiar looking turian. He gave them back to her, spoke with her, and eventually became her lover.
Soon after, while she was engrossed in a project of making a chemical strong enough to kill a krogan, her two closest Xenos packed up for a new job. when he and Raven boarded a smuggling vessel, she wasn’t far behind, chemical data pads and goggles in tow. Along with quite a few backpacks hanging from her general person.

| If I had the power to deny or accept apps, I'd accept this one. Always nice to see batarian characters, and the skills/personality seem to be well thought out instead of just being not-shepard with a personality scribbled on.
Backstory is also nice, not a massive unreadable tome of character history and doesn't spend too much time focusing on a single event in the character's life.
Out of curiosity though, why pick a batarian? | |
